Small visible veins can make your legs look red or uneven, even when the surrounding skin is healthy. At Synergi MedSpa in Chesterfield, Missouri, we offer BBL® HERO™ to help reduce the appearance of suitable superficial vessels without injections or surgery. Treatment begins with an evaluation of your skin and veins so we can determine whether this approach is right for you.
Schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss your concerns and learn what you can realistically expect from treatment.
How can BBL HERO help with visible leg veins?
BBL HERO uses BroadBand Light to target certain small blood vessels near the skin’s surface. For appropriate candidates, treatment can soften the appearance of fine red vessels and vascular redness, helping the skin look clearer and more even.
The size, color, and depth of your veins matter when choosing a treatment. Larger blue veins, bulging varicose veins, and veins associated with circulation problems require a different evaluation and treatment approach. During your consultation, we will assess your concerns and explain whether BBL HERO is a suitable option.
How does treatment work?
BBL HERO delivers pulses of filtered light through a handheld device placed against the skin. The light is absorbed by blood within targeted vessels, producing heat that can cause those vessels to close and gradually become less visible as the body clears them.
Your provider adjusts the settings to your skin and the area being treated. The device’s cooling system helps protect the skin’s surface and improve comfort throughout the session.
Am I a candidate?
You may be a candidate if you have small, superficial vessels on your legs that you would like to make less noticeable. Your provider will consider your skin tone, recent sun exposure, medical history, medications, and the characteristics of your veins before recommending treatment.
BBL HERO is not appropriate for every skin type or every visible vein. If you have bulging veins, persistent leg swelling, aching, or skin changes around your ankles, a medical vein evaluation may be recommended before cosmetic treatment.
What should I expect during and after treatment?
During treatment, you will wear protective eyewear and may feel brief warmth or a snapping sensation as the light pulses are delivered. Appointment length depends on the size of the area and the number of vessels being treated.
Temporary redness, warmth, or mild swelling can occur afterward. Most patients can return to routine daily activities with little downtime, although your provider will give you specific instructions about exercise, heat exposure, and skincare. Protecting the treated area from the sun and following your aftercare instructions are important parts of recovery.
What results can I expect?
Improvement develops gradually as treated vessels fade. The response depends on your skin, the vessels being treated, and how they respond to the light energy. A series of appointments may be recommended, and complete clearance is not guaranteed.
Treatment addresses existing visible vessels, but new ones can develop over time. At follow-up visits, your provider can assess your progress and discuss whether additional treatment would be helpful.
